Accidental Email Breaches
Synopsis
Accidental email breaches can occur when staff incorrectly send data to the wrong person(s) over email, or receive data over email that we shouldn't really have.
Procedure
Help – I sent an email to the wrong person
If you send an email to the wrong person then it is not possible to recall it when it leaves the School’s email system. For help on what to do to limit such a loss, contact the school's Network Manager or Head Teacher who will liaise with the Information Governance Team to resolve the issue.
Help – I received an email containing someone’s personal data that I don’t think it should have.
If you receive an email which contains data you don’t think you should have, you can also get help by contacting the school's Network Manager or Head Teacher.
Help – I need to send sensitive data to someone.
If you need to send sensitive data to someone inside or outside of the school or council, please contact the school's Network Manager for advise before send said data.
